About Tribeca Youth Screening Series
September 2007—May 2008
Through a year-long presentation of films for young people, ranging in topics from war to our environment to the way young people see the world today. TFI provides educators and students with a unique way to learn. By providing teacher trainings, study guides, post-screening events and short introductory films for the classroom from the Media that Matters Film Festival—TFI ensures that each screening is a rich experience, enduring far beyond the duration of the film itself.
Kazi Rolles, subject of Hip Hop Project, performs at an in-school Tribeca Youth screening at Urban Assembly School of Art and Music in Brooklyn as part of the 2006-2007 Tribeca Youth Screening Series
Since the TFI began presenting films for young audiences, over 2000 students have had the opportunity to attend these screenings free of charge.
