Cityscapes

This spring, the Tribeca Film Fellows—20 dynamic young filmmakers who are invited to the Tribeca Film Festival for a backstage look at the Festival and the film industry at large—descended on all five boroughs to capture the essence of the city they live in. Presented as an introduction to Our City, My Story, Cityscapes introduces the 11 short films and pays homage to the young filmmakers featured in the program and the city that all of them live in and love.

The Stereotype Project

This spring, 70 middle school students from Bronx Preparatory Charter School participated in the Tribeca Teaches program. Through 10 weeks of story development, research and shooting footage—each classroom created a short film exploring a persistent stereotype in their neighborhood, the South Bronx. These films address who these students are, where they are from, how people perceive them, and most importantly, how they perceive themselves. Together, these four short films comprise The Stereotype Project, a celebration of the Bronx, its future and the young people who live here.
