TFI is proud to announce the Camera-to-Classroom Fund, generously supported by JP Morgan Chase, which will award 15 one-time $2,500 awards to non-profit organizations in New York City who wish to create or meaningfully improve a partnership with an NYC public school through the end of the spring semester. Using the Department of Education’s new Moving Image Blueprint as their guide, organizations will create and facilitate a short-term workshop focusing on film, television or animation. These awards are meant to encourage cultural organizations and their school partners to think creatively about how to shape an effective moving image education partnership with finite resources.
Each recipient will have an opportunity to share their experience and work with organizational peers and colleagues, with the ultimate goal of making sure that every year more of NYC’s educators are equipped to bring the moving image into their classrooms. Awards will be broken into three categories: elementary, middle and high school – five awards will be given in each category.
