Tribeca Youth on CBS Sunday Morning—May 24, 2009

On Sunday, May 24, CBS Sunday Morning aired a feature segment entitled “Children of the Recession” where Tribeca Film Institute’s youth filmmakers have created films that depict their own experiences of the recession. CBS Sunday Morning followed four of our students, three high schoolers from the Tribeca Film Fellows and a middle schooler from our Tribeca Teaches program at Bronx Preparatory Charter School as they created their films, discussed the economic climate and shared their stories.

The segment also discussed the importance of young voices and youth filmmaking and discuss that the Tribeca Film Institute has facilitated this process with young people around New York City.
