Making the Boys
Director Crayton Robey and 4th Row Films present an extended trailer from their feature-length documentary work-in-progress, Making the Boys.  The film delves into the history of the controversial, landmark play, The Boys in the Band, the first successful work to unabashedly portray gay characters in their daily lives.  From its initial impact in 1968, through the Stonewall riots, and its groundbreaking Hollywood adaptation to the screen, Making the Boys examines the work’s often overlooked influence on gay and straight audiences, the entertainment industry, and culture as a whole over the last four decades.

The Foolishness of God: Desmond Tutu and Forgiveness
The Foolishness of God: Desmond Tutu and Forgiveness examines Desmond Tutu’s provocative message of reconciliation in the midst of brutal oppression. Producer/Director Karen Hayes will present scenes from her work-in-progress, including covert actions of a failed regime that tried to crush Desmond Tutu and South Africa’s freedom movement, and Tutu’s struggle to secure the truth-telling survivors need from unwilling perpetrators.

Supermacho

Beyond The Mat
In the tradition of Rocky and The Karate Kid, we are proud to present what is sure to be the next classic sports film. With an underdog who rises up to meet a seemingly unstoppable opponent, Beyond the Mat combines the best elements of an edge-of-your-seat sports drama with a modern twist. Currently in post production, we are excited to share with you the latest news and updates on this exciting project that has been described as Friday Night Lights on the wrestling mat.

Money Matters
Money Matters chronicles the adolescence of Monique “Money” Matters, a biracial teenager navigating the rough waters of faith, sexuality, the inner city, and her mother’s seedy past with the help of rhymes and verses. Monique grew up without knowing her white father, and when the truth about his identity and her mother’s health come to light, she must grow up in a way she never imagined she would have to and discover secrets that will change her life forever. The presentation will include a screening of the award-winning short and a staged reading featuring Aunjanue Ellis (Pamela Matters) and Michael K. Williams (Con).

The Papaya Factory
14 year old Cuban-American Lucy Alvarez thought it would be fun and educational to celebrate her quinceanera as a class project. When her wealthy, popular classmate Erika Payne plans her elaborate Sweet Sixteen at the same time, a cultural showdown moves Lucy one step closer to adulthood. This event will include a slide show and a pitch presentation.

The Sisterhood of Night
Based on the short story by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Steven Millhauser, produced by Lydia Dean Pilcher and Jessica Levin, directed by Caryn Waechter, and written by Marilyn Fu. This modern version of the Salem Witch Trials explores the inner lives of three teenage girls when their secret society, The Sisterhood of Night, is exposed in church. The multimedia presentation will include a short reading from the script, storyboards, and a trailer.

The Chim
The presentation will begin with a screening of Chang’s The Fixpoint and conclude with a reading from the script of The Chim. In The Fixpoint a misguided young man enters into a gang initiation and discovers a strange device – a time machine. When he finds himself set up for murder, he must use the machine to track down the conspirators before they can get to him.

The filmmaker will present a sneak peek of the film and conduct a discussion with Herbert and Dorothy Vogel.
