It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of filmmaker St. Clair Bourne, on Saturday December 15th at the age of 64.
The Harlem born documentarian’s credits include Making ‘Do the Right Thing’, Paul Robeson: Here I Stand!, Let the Church Say Amen, In Motion: Amiri Baraka, The Black and the Green, Langston Hughes: The Dream Keeper, New Orleans Brass, and John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk. He participated in Tribeca All Access in 2005 with his project The Black Panther Party For Self Defense.
In addition to his film work, St. Clair was an advocate and social activist creating such filmmaker support organizations such as the Black Documentary Association (BDA) and the Black Association of Documentary Filmmakers (BAD). He was an important advisor in the development of Tribeca All Access and will be greatly missed.
