2007 Tribeca Talks/Sloan Panel Discussions
As part of the Sloan Science and Technology Series at the Festival, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation presents panel discussions on topics concerning the interface between science and technology, and/or scientists, mathematicians or engineers and film. This year’s panel is Prodigies, Nobelists and Penguins: Science and Stereotypes in the Movies.
Drawing on several new films at this years festival— Vitus, Nobel Son and Eye of the Dolphin—and such acclaimed movies as A Beautiful Mind, Proof, Good Will Hunting, The Aviator, March of the Penguins, and more, Tribeca Talks brought filmmakers and scientists Darren Aronofsky, Billy Shebar and Dr. Sidney Perkowitz together for an entertaining conversation about science in the movies.
