Video: 2011 Sloan Summit Opening Night

The Tribeca Film Institute was proud to be able to host the 2011 Sloan Summit, a gathering of over 100 emerging screenwriters and filmmakers from six film schools, three film festivals and four screenwriting development programs (among them the TFI Sloan Filmmaker Fund) made possible by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

The video above was shot at the Summit's opening night event at the Yotel in Manhattan, where our attendees came forward to introduce their film projects and their progress in getting them made and seen.

We also want to offer a thanks to our goody bag sponsors Eleni’s New York, New York Mediabobble, Illy, Heineken, and Popcorn, Indiana.

Say Something

I did enjoy watching this video. So much talent and so many blossoming film makers. Would like to see subjects for films which explore psychology and philosophy. Our population in the US needs "film story education" on so many subjects, many of which "they cannot talk about" in this country where I grew up. Most of the "worldly" ideas I've learned from teenage on have come from films. As a senior I am enamored to bold films which touch on sensitive issues. Like what Sloan is doing. Thanks to all .
