Searching for an End
Dir. Jason Oldak
"Searching for an End", is a story of a man’s journey into madness. The film focuses on the idea behind ""process"" and how process relates to each of us in our human cycles. Whether it be through life, action or simply the most mundane of things it stands to focus on procedure and progression in things full circle . ""Searching for an End"", connects life and the principles behind the golden mean. My intention was to center upon the concept of the dream and the surreal sensibilities behind much of what we envision. The moment when reality and dream state tend to integrate. We create such real sensations through our dream state that when we wake we sometimes question the line of absoluteness. A search for an ending. In the film the subject seems lost and confused. He starts disoriented and puzzled and later gains the understanding he has been here before and where and when will this stop. The act of trying to wipe the surface clean just brings him back into his lucid state to only start the process all over.......once again!
