The Good Pitch is one-day live event bringing together specially selected foundations, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, broadcasters and other media people to expand the resources aimed at maximizing the impact of social-issue documentary. Eight filmmaking teams pitch their project and its associated outreach campaign with the aim of creating a unique coalition around each film to in order to accelerate its impact and influence.
"The Good Pitch is a unique catalyst which harnesses new and creative energies with the goal of getting films made and seen," said Beth Janson, Artistic Director, Tribeca Film Institute. "This economic climate calls for unconventional thinking, especially in the cultural realm, and hosting The Good Pitch is one way TFI is supporting documentary filmmakers who are thinking outside the box."
The Good Pitch is a project of The Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation in partnership with the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program. It is made possible by The Fledgling Fund, Chicken and Egg Pictures, Tides Foundation, the Hartley Film Foundation and anonymous donors. Campaign development for filmmakers provided by Working Films.
Cara Mertes, Director, Documentary Film Program, Sundance Institute "Good Pitch continues to grow, leveraging the power of face-to-face interactions which fast-track creative partnerships and opportunities across multiple sectors and stakeholder groups. Year two of Good Pitch launches with a renewed commitment to raising the bar on resource identification for the independent documentary field."
Expanding the conversation, Good Pitch @ Tribeca will have a special emphasis on bringing corporate and brand partners to the table alongside non-profits.
